Cats’ Psychological Health (2)
Signs of Cat Depression
It is difficult to get to know the world view of cats. What we can do is try out best to make their life as comfortable as possible, but we cannot always meet every cat’s psychological needs precisely. Changes in surroundings or owners’ daily routine may seem trivial to us owners but are like a violent earthquake for our cats. Cats express their tension and anxiety in certain ways. Depression will make cats scratch and chew destructively. They do this just to catch their busy owners’ attention. Some cats will keep licking certain part of their body until that area become bald, because pain can alleviate pressure to some degree. It is called psychogenic alopecia. Some cats suffering from mental stress will excrete anywhere indoors.

Early discovery and intervention of these behaviors will help cats out of trouble.
